Investing in Litchfield Public Schools

On November 5, 2019, Litchfield voters will make an important decision
about investing in our public schools.

Three questions will be on the ballot this fall:

Voters will decide whether to supplement state funding for educational programming in Litchfield to ensure that we can maintain current class sizes, avoid cuts to current programs, and stabilize our district’s budget.

A second question will ask voters whether to make facilities investments to remodel our existing schools to meet educational needs, improve school safety for our students, and maintain aging building infrastructure.

(Contingent on passage of both Q1 and Q2)
The referendum will pose a third question about building a pool at the high school that would also be designed as the first phase of a possible larger community aquatic center project. Q3 would also include re-purposing existing space to allow more students to use the fitness equipment and add a soccer field.

THESE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS REQUIRE VOTERS LIKE YOU TO HAVE ALL THE FACTS YOU NEED TO MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE.

The purpose of this website is to provide you with factual information about the needs of our students and our school buildings, how the plan was developed, details of the plan, and the tax impact on residents.
